Over at the site we’ve finished our Murder Madness series for Indigo Prophecy, which, for those that don’t know, is embedded above, where we played through the entirety of Quantic Dreams second game for no reason other than to fill our empty lives. You can “read all about it” by checking out this post, because otherwise I’m going to be saying exactly the same thing all over again. That game is OK. Moving on.

Wouldn't you want to see these handsome devils with some "WICKED ASS" commentary

So the question now is what next with regards to video. I’m really quite torn over whether to do try another series, perhaps an individual one, with Starcraft actually being suggested by a friend. Big problem there. It’s boring! Whilst SC is a great game to play and would get other players up to speed on the series before the launch of SC2: Wings of Liberty, how on earth will me playing the campaigns, with each level lasting upwards of 45 minutes, doing the same thing, again and again and again. Great game, no good on video, as I’m no where near as good as anybody who posts SC vids online.

So what else could I do. Well, a random RPG is usually a safe bet, but again, grinding and stuff with a dull personality narrating over the top doesn’t work, unless it’s really obscure. I’ve even contemplated playing something along the lines of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, perhaps because a lot of people haven’t played it and it’s relatively obscure. But then, does anyone want to see it.

I’ll probably go into detail explaining how things work at some point when it comes to recording and editing these videos when I’ve sufficiently recovered from the haul of doing just 16 episodes, which isn’t many really, but the big question I keep asking myself is sure, there are a ton of games I want to play and record, but there are a few important points which really get to me:

  1. I’m no good on my own with these vids, as proved by the others I’ve done
  2. Very few people will want to watch some of the stuff I’m wanting to play
  3. Recording stuff is a bitch, requiring investment, therefore limited what sources we can record to. I’m not using a VHS tape recorder.

The other option is a series similar to how we did the last one, pick a game we agree we want to play, have the facility to

play and record and go with it. Problem is, I don’t have a clue what to suggest for a game. Browsing Steam, my usual go-to for picking games to play (which is what I essentially did with IP), apart from being dominated by “Railworks” a railway simulator which perhaps won’t make too compelling footage, Everquest, which means we’d never have lives again. Ever. But the Sherlock Holmes collection sure does stand out.

Maybe we won’t do another, it’s a possibility. But I really like doing them (having said that, the other guys may secretly hate the entire process) and I like the fact it’s actually original stuff. Whilst it’s really easy to practically copy and paste news stories etc, making original stuff is really cool and I need to do more of it.

So, any poor person who has found this miserable persons blog, please, help our cause by picking a game for us to do. We’ll do it if only one person is going to watch…Maybe.
